Problem Statement
Bevolo Lighting was in need of a website redesign to deliver the elevated experience required to fit their industry leading brand. With customers around the world is was imperative that Bevolo develop a website that delivered an experience that matched their showrooms by enabling customers to browse their full inventory of fixtures and gain direct access to design experts.
To better understand the current user experience and pain points we analyzed heat map sessions and analytics data. This analysis helped us gain valuable insights about browsing preferences and user behavior on both desktop and . We conducted several user research sessions and completed extensive market research to help define multiple user journeys and ensure that the new website catered to their defined audience.
Through the analysis of heat maps and analytics we determined that the current navigation structure was cumbersome and left users unclear on how to access information the were interested in on the site. Users rarely took advantage of complimentary design services due to hidden CTA’s and an incomplete content strategy. We observed the overall speed of the desktop and mobile experience to be slow leading to higher-than-average bounce rates and poor page rank.

Solution
To improve the navigation our team created a new sitemap and user flows based on our analysis and user research.
By allowing users to browse lighting fixtures by series, application, or style we were able to deliver a site that was more accessible and personal.
The addition of CTA’s for complementary design services on the homepage and product pages led to an increase in quality leads and reduced the amount of users errors in ordering custom fixtures.
With a modern and responsive site as well as improved information architecture, we were able to significantly reduce page load, subsequently improving page rank across the site.
